About Us

Threads of Hope is a life changing project that empowers women artisans in the shantytowns of Lima, Peru to create better lives for themselves and their families. The women who create the charming Peruvian textiles live in a shantytown in the desert hills on the outskirts of Lima. 75% of heads of households are underemployed; the majority make a living from informal trades in construction work or mechanics. Their average monthly income range is usually less then $100/month. Threads of Hope facilitates the sale of their charming artform by working with volunteers throughout the U.S. to host consignment shows in homes, schools, businesses, churches and retail stores.  The revenue generated from the sale of these delightful textiles are making bright futures a reality as many of their needs are now met in areas that directly affect their families including: education, housing, and healthcare. Volunteers are an integral part of ToH ability to return 100% of profit back to the women artisans.
